I abandoned this blog a while back and just happened to log in to see that the count down was down to 1 hour left. Perhaps it is fitting that I happened to check in one last time.
Many things happened that were unexpected in the interim. My mother passed away, I was sick for a time. Many of the items on the list became unimportant to me, or I replaced them with other tasks I found necessary or enjoyable.
Life changed, moved along. I learned that I am fickle with my interests, always changing, evolving. This is part of me: explorer, learner, curious as a cat.
Good bye list. Good bye.

Back From Nowhere
I've been terribly neglectful, haven't I? I haven't posted a thing since March, for heaven's sake!
Well, I've decided to return and try to catch myself up and re-evaluate my list which you can see at the left. Since I've almost at the half way point of my timeline, it's time for some serious rehab of my list. Some things got done,... some things are never going to get done, ... some things I've given up on, and some things I still think are worth my time to do. So, we'll see how it goes.
The photo above is just one of life's bumps that happened this past summer and slowed my progress. We had a major leak that necessitated the taking up of the kitchen floor, the dining room floor, pull out kitchen cabinets and half the wall was gone as you can see. It took about 6 weeks to get everything put back together again and the dining room is now the loom room, or the 2.5 studio room as I like to think of it
So, about this blog...I've got to prove to myself that I can stick with my goals (even as I re-assess every once in a while) and finish something I've set out to do. Where I've abandoned some things, there are other tasks or wishes that have taken their place. For now, I'm going to revitalize my efforts and be a better chronicler.

9. Go to the movies alone
I went to see this costume drama yesterday while hubby was away as I knew he didn't particularly want to see it. This trailer pic is probably the best part of the movie. The costumes looked great; the plot and rest of the movie, not so much.
This was one of the most boring movies I've seen in a long time. I hated the way the film was shot; all gloomy and dark all the time. I don't have to be hit over the head with "atmosphere". Practically every interior shot had the camera man hiding in the closet peeking through filmy curtains or screens. That type of manufactured effect is really irritating when it goes on and on. Some actual dialogue to save the plot would have been welcomed.
Save yourself the $ and don't go see this movie.

#18 Reading Harry Potter
Read all 7 of the Harry Potter books
1.Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone finished 12/28/07
2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
5. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
6. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
7. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
So...Santa kindly brought me the Harry Potter series for Christmas. I finished the first one last night.
A friend described it as "goodish". I'd describe it as a very interesting start to more adventures. It definitely made me want to read the next one.
Now, I have to confess that I've already seen all the movies that are out (I think 5 by now), so as I was reading the "Sorcerer's Stone" visions of that movie popped into my head.
On to the next.

#45. Take my mother out to dinner
Good grief! I've passed the 10% milestone of my days but feel like I've been an absolute slug the last month or so. With less than 900 days left I certainly haven't finished 10% of my goals. After the holidays it is time to buckle down again.
One item that I can mark off, but forgot to mention, was to take my mother out to dinner. When we visited her at Thanksgiving, she wanted to go to this Italian restaurant, Buca di Beppo She called it a food museum. So the day after turkey day, off we go to this crazy place covered floor to ceiling with photographs of Italians and Italian-Americans and all sorts of statuary and do-dads. She had reserved the Frank Sinatra booth but it was not empty when we arrived. She was PO'd about that but there were plenty of empty spaces so we had another booth with murals of ladies and fountains.
The food was good. Really big portions, even the single-serving entries were huge. It was fun.
